Fjällräven Kånken

What are your plans for the summer? This backpack from Fjällräven is the perfect bag to every occasion. Fjällräven originally comes from my hometown Örnsköldsvik in Sweden and it is amazing to see people carrying it all over the world. When I was in New York in August 2011 I saw Fjällräven backpacks in all the trendy independent shops and now you can get it at the Museum shop at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis. Pick your favorite color and start using it. It comes in different sizes and colors so it fits everyone. What is your favorite color?!

The Mutewatch

This morning I was reading Veckans Affärer which is a Swedish magazine covering business stories and the CEO and founder of Mutewatch was on the front page of the latest issue. The design of the watches from Mutewatch seems to come from the future and the whole product is super cool. The first time I tried it on I could not stop playing with it. It has a touch screen, it vibrates and the design is both sporty and fashionable. A Mutewatch does not have regular batteries, you just attach the USB port to your computer and it charges that way. Check out the video below to see how amazing it is. Check out ShopSwedish online store for more info.

Urbanears

This season is all about pastel colors and what can be more right than a pair of earbuds or headphones in that color. Colorful earbuds and headphones is an extra spice for your daily outfit. What I like the most with Urbanears is that it fits anyone. Boy, girl, woman, man it does not matter and I promise you that it is not only a great accessory, it also gives a great sound. I was so happy when I saw them at the Museum shop since I know the designer behind the fancy boxes. My favorite is the lavender earbuds. What is your favorite?! Check out Urbanears and the colors here!

Magisso Cake Server

It's mothers day today and why not serve the cake with this amazing scandinavian innovation. I use it both to cakes and to serve small pieces of quiche. It is always tricky to cut the cake and to serve it in good looking pieces but by using this cake server it makes the problem disappear. It is a fun product that everyone can use and the bright colors makes the party even more fun.

The #1 salt!

One of the first things I bought here in Minneapolis was Falksalt. Falksalt is flake salt and you can use it in so many different dishes. I use it in food, as topping and also in chocolate pastries. Salt and dark chocolate goes very well together and I am going to do chocolate covered strawberries with a flake salt touch.  I was so happy when I saw it at the American Swedish Institute museum shop (www.shopswedish.com) and I have used it almost every day since my arrival.

The weather...

The weather is just weird for the moment. Heavy rain, sunshine, cold, warm, thunder yes you name it. It is just shifting every other minute and it feels like the best choice is to stay inside because I do not want to go out for a bike ride and risk to be soaking wet on the way back home. Therefore I've started to read a new book, Lars Kepler - Hypnotisören (The Hypnotist). I cannot stop reading and it is just the perfect entertainment on a rainy day. I was so glad that I found it here since I forgot to buy a Swedish book before going to Minneapolis. One can argue that I should read something in English while I'm here but it is nice to not have to concentrate on the language for just a moment.

A nice cup of tea and the book makes the time disappear for a couple of hours. The story of the author(s) is interesting in itself since it is a pseudonym but the book is even better. Reading is nice but let's hope for some nice weather now!

The intern

Let me introduce you to your new blogger... The intern at the American Swedish Institute!
Still a bit jet lagged and not a 100 % acclimatized but I'm feeling it coming. The time difference is confusing me since my computer is telling me the Swedish time and the phone is telling me Minneapolis time. Due to this mix up with time I am craving this new fabulous watch from Swedish TRIWA. The long leather band that you spin around your wrist two times and the colorful clock face makes it perfect both as an accessory and as my personal assistant when it comes to time.
